Charley has been accepted to play in the pre qualifier for the Ricoh Ladies Open. This is the first qualifier and will be played on the Blue course at The Berkshire GC on Monday 12th July 2010. The top 25 finishers will go on to the final qualifier at Hillside on Monday 26th July, just three days before the actual Ricoh Ladies Open at Royal Birkdale where there are currently 14 available spaces.
A set of the new regulation irons with the new design grooves has been obtained for Charley. These are essential for amateurs and profesionasl who wish to compete in professional tournaments. The revised grooves are meant to reduce the spin imparted to the ball, especially out of the semi rough. Charley has practiced with the new clubs and has adapted her game accordingly, so she is not seeing a noticeable difference when attacking greens.
Following her star performance helping Northamptonshire county ladies team win the Midland South Six Counties championships, she will be playing in the national County Team Finals at Kedleston Hall, in Derbyshire, from 13th - 17th September 2010.
She also hopes to enter the French Ladies Amateur Stroke Play championship at Palmola golf course, near Toulouse from 1st - 3rd October 2010.
